Floyd Stadium, home of the Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders is the oldest stadium in Conference USA. In the early 1930s a new stadium was constructed for the football program at the university. The Blue Raiders debuted at their new stadium on October 14, 1933 when they battled Jacksonville State. It was originally known as Horace Jones Field, after Horace Jones, a prominent member of the Middle Tennessee athletic department.

Although the stadium has a small capacity today, it has been enlarged several times. Expansions occurred in both 1950 and 1968 increasing the seating capacity to 15,000. In November 1979, the stadium was renamed after legendary coach Johnny Red Floyd. By the mid 1990s Floyd Stadium began showing its age. In 1997 and the following year, the stadium was rebuilt. The Blue Raiders debuted at the rebuilt Floyd Stadium on September 5, 1998 against Tennessee State. Today, the stadium has a seating capacity of 30,788. It has an upper deck on the north and east sides, and contains 28 luxury suites. A new stadium club was built in 2012.
