CANVAS STADIUM

Fort Collins, CO

For the first time since the 1967 season, football returns to the campus of Colorado State University with the opening of Colorado State Stadium. From 1968 until 2016 the Rams played at Hughes Stadium, located three miles west of campus. In 2013 Colorado State University began discussing plans to build a new stadium on campus. The university decided to build a stadium in the southwest quadrant of campus and construction began in September 2015. The $220 million facility has a seating capacity of 36,500 in two main seating decks. The stadium has 23 luxury suites, 800 outdoor club seats, open air concourses and a 50 x 84 foot HD videoboard in the south endzone. The Rams played their first game at the stadium on August 26, 2017 against the Oregon State Beavers. Originally known as Colorado State Stadium, it was renamed Canvas Stadium after Canvas Credit Union purchased the naming rights for $37.7 million over 15 years.
