JOE AILLET STADIUM

Ruston, LA

Home of the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs, Joe Aillet Stadium, is located in Ruston, LA and in the Conference USA. The stadium was built in the mid 1960s and became the home of the Bulldogs when they played their first game there on September 28, 1968 against ECU. It originally had a seating capacity of 23,000 and is named after former coach and athletic director Joe Aillet.

The first of two additions to the stadium occurred prior to the 1985 season when the skybox was built. In order to become a Division 1A football program, the stadium was expanded to seat over 30,600 fans in 1990. Today, the stadium consists of single tier grandstands on both sides of the playing field. The grass field has recently been replaced with Fieldturf. In October 2013 Louisiana Tech unveiled plans to construct a 70,000 square-foot football operations facility in the south endzone of Joe Aillet Stadium. It was completed by the start of the 2015 season.
